Client: We Are What We Do

If you could do one thing to make the world a better place,
what would it be?’

The Brief
The TYGTT book was the brainchild of We Are What We Do, and the result of a question posed by them in The Times, asking children; ‘if you could do one thing to make the world a better place, what would it be?’. The response was overwhelming and the project was underway.

The Solution
From the outset, New Future Graphic worked with We Are What We Do to narrow down thousands of answers into a refined list of the best thirty ‘Actions’. Having arrived at the shortlist we set about devising concepts for each spread. When the flat plan was in place, we wrote briefs for each Action, to be completed in house at NFG. A select few were commissioned out of house to trusted photographers and illustrators.

Whilst the creation of the visual content for each Action was underway we set about designing the templates, palettes and look and feel of the book.

As part of our role as project managers we handled production, sourcing finishes, tip-ins, and paper stocks. We also wrote briefs and commissioned artists from our network to work on the book.

The Result
The book entered the Amazon top 20 sellers list and was included in Sarah Brown’s top books of the year
This year, the book was launched in Australia, Spain and the USA and it continues to travel the world, inviting children to do more, simple, positive actions for their communities.

Testimonials

We worked with New Future Graphic to create our 2008 children’s book, Teach Your Granny to Text & Other Ways to Change the World, and, not only was it a great looking book, but the all subtle touches and surprising moments built into the design made it genuinely inspiring and entertaining for kids – who absolutely love it. We had a great time working with the NFG guys and, literally, millions of kids are still having a great time thumbing through their creation…”

Nick Stanhope, CEO, We Are What We Do

“… this is a great go-to book when you’re looking for ways to entertain small friends and make a difference along the way.”
