New Freeview TV ad campaign with advertising agency 18 feet & Rising. Our role was to bring the ‘talking’ TV in the ad to life.
18 Feet & Rising approached NFG with a draft script for their Freeview TV commercial. The advert is set in a living room in which everyday objects come to life and converse with each other. Within this setting the Television is the central character, explaining the benefits of owning a Freeview box.
Our role was to enhance the narrative by bringing the TV screen to life using animated illustrations.
The project timeline was very tight and the script and components were subject to change throughout the process. As a result we were required to develop a wide range of concepts, from which the final eight were selected for use in the final edit.
We broke the script down and created mini briefs for each section of the narrative. Every section of dialogue needed a bespoke visual solution to add gravitas to the voice-over, and we provided 18 Feet with style tests and storyboards for each. Once a look and feel was established we generated finished flat visuals for each scene, and on sign off we animated the stills for integration with the live action footage.
As well as the animations we subsequently created artwork for the print, web and outdoor campaign.
Following the success of the campaign 18 Feet subsequently asked us to work up four new scenes for a refreshed version of the advert.
